Building on the Presence+ Network

The Presence+ Network holds the record that every helping application needs and none should own: who a person is, which communities they belong to and in what role, what they have consented to, how they are doing on the outcome measures, and the hand-up to licensed care when a helper reaches the edge of their scope. Your application holds the experience. This documentation covers the four ways in.

1. Apply

Membership in the Developer Network is $25 a month for one developer and one organization, $10 a month for each additional developer. Applications are reviewed within one business day. Apply here; you will sign in with Presence+ (or create an account) and describe the application and the organization it serves.

We can only work with developers whose organization is HIPAA and SOC 2 compliant. If yours is not, you agree to keep client data in the Presence+ data store, held by True Presence, Inc.; the compliance is part of what the membership gives you.

2. The sandbox

On approval you get a new, empty instance of the Network for your application: its own identity server client, its own record, no real people in it. Build and test there; nothing in the sandbox reaches the production Network.

3. Identity

The identity server at https://api.presence.plus is a standard OpenID Connect issuer. Discovery, authorization code with PKCE, userinfo and a JWKS endpoint are all where the standard says they are, so any OIDC library works. See Sign in with Presence+.

curl -s https://api.presence.plus/.well-known/openid-configuration | jq '{issuer, authorization_endpoint, token_endpoint, userinfo_endpoint, scopes_supported}'

4. The API and the SDK

The REST API serves the record; the TypeScript SDK (@presenceplus/sdk, closed source, licensed to members) wraps it with types and the consent checks built in. Other languages call the REST API directly until their SDKs ship. See the SDK guide and the API reference.

This documentation is being written alongside the platform. Pages marked as placeholders will fill in as each part ships; the identity server is live today.
